What's Up With Baseball Moms and Volleyball Dads?

Link Seriously, I’m calling for a complete shutdown of travel baseball until we can figure out what the heck is going on!

I Can't Take Any Maher, Bishop!

Opinion: I’m a Catholic bishop who has found an ally in Bill Maher There is something about a Catholic bishop, successor of the Apostles, licking the boots of a court jester that puts a bad taste in my mouth (pun intended). I like the Internet Bishop, but let’s consider the point he’s making here: I like Bill Maher because nowadays he is less interested in spewing anti-Catholic hate and more interested in complaining about trans kids.

What Is Your Kid's Inheritance?

Link How can you live forever? There is no fountain of youth; there is no immortality potion; there is no brain upload. None of us will live forever. None of us will even be remembered forever. Whenever your name is said for the last time, you will be forgotten. You can write your name into the side of a mountain and it may last a few thousand years. You can upload your autobiography to a hard drive and leave it geostationary orbit, and that might keep a record of you safe for a few billion years, but this will never be read or remembered.

She Would Rather Screw A Bear Than You

Man vs Bear Would you rather be stuck in a forest with a man or a bear? You’ve seen the Man vs Bear debate. Lots of people break this down into women being irrational, or not understanding per capita, or being spiteful, man-hating feminists, and all of those are probably true but definitely missing the point. I saw a perfect example of this dialogue playing out in the following form:

How can you live forever?

There is no fountain of youth; there is no immortality potion; there is no brain upload. None of us will live forever. None of us will even be remembered forever. Whenever your name is said for the last time, you will be forgotten. You can write your name into the side of a mountain and it may last a few thousand years. You can upload your autobiography to a hard drive and leave it geostationary orbit, and that might keep a record of you safe for a few billion years, but this will never be read or remembered. Even if it was read, they will not know you. Frankly, nobody will care.

There is only one way to live forever: in descendants. Your descendants hundreds of generations in the future will not know your name, yet they are because you were. Their DNA is partly yours. Once your genes are diffuse enough in the species, you are an immortal member of the human race.

Until the last human dies, you will never die.

This is a pretty good deal.
